COULDN’T WE ALL USE A LITTLE JUMPSTART?

Today, I’d like to introduce you to my friend, Julie Machakos. I first met her when we teamed with our mutual friend Debbie to lead Kayak Adventures in Alaska. She is just a little younger than me, and she inspires me by her challenge of doing a handstand most anywhere she travels! She has been a wellness lifestyle coach for over a decade, and she wants to help you live longer and stronger too. Here are a few words of inspiration from Julie:

As I write this, I am in the spare bedroom in my mother’s home. Just a week ago I was here, staying in this very room. It was a wonderful visit. Mom and I had fun spending quality time together, talking and laughing. She shared some stories from her childhood, stuff I didn’t know about. I headed back to my home in Idaho with a heart full of love for this gift of such a great mama.

But just a week later she was in the Emergency Room, having had several small strokes. I hopped on the first flight in the morning and hours later, found myself sitting by her bedside in a sterile hospital room, with machines beeping endlessly in the background. My sister and I began to grapple with the enormity of the situation, the future unknown, stress building. I felt myself shutting down, just wanting to sleep. But once my head hit the pillow at night, the worries of the day kept me from actually getting a good night’s rest.

Have you experienced something like this? Maybe for you the stress came in the form of concern about your children or grandchildren. Career responsibilities. Financial worries.

Stress raises our cortisol – the fight or flight mechanism. It’s likely we can all relate to attempts to relieve our stress by eating foods (or drinking drinks) that don’t love us back, which can lead to blood sugar dysregulation, and in turn promotes moodiness (including anxiety, depression, and feeling “hangry”). Add on belly bloat, fatigue, digestive issues, and unwanted weight gain.

Ugh. It’s all connected.

As a Health Coach for a decade, I have seen that these issues are all too common.

But what if there was a way to help yourself that didn’t involve extreme dieting or deprivation or endless hours at the gym?

I want to share with you my upcoming 5-Day Jumpstart. It’s just like it sounds. It’s a program designed to help you get moving in the right direction with your health, and to start feeling better quickly. I’ll be providing meal ideas, shopping lists, a daily guide to help make these new habits stick, as well as connection with other women going through the Jumpstart on a special, private Facebook page.

Take a moment to consider what it could look and feel like if you had energy for life’s demands, with a little left over for some fun and enjoyment.

But hurry. There’s special 20% off pricing through this Saturday, March 8, at 11:59 pm Mountain Time.

Take a few moments to learn more here. This may just be the Jumpstart you need.

Care for yourself–God cares for you!

“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7)

My friend, author, Pam Farrel, often explains the key words in this verse as:

Cast (hurl, throw and transfer) all (every) anxiety (worry, fear, those things that fracture your focus, splits your world into pieces) on Him (Jesus) because He cares for (has concern and pays attention to ) you.

Please join us for the Five Day JumpStart and allow God to show care to wonderful you!
