Thanksgiving Baseball: Where Gratitude Not a Grounder Helps You WIN!

Want a new spin on the faithful habit of thankfulness? Try Thanksgiving Baseball! You can play it inside around the table or for extra zest (and to burn more calories) try playing it outside on a baseball diamond.  The rules are simple: Inside: everyone goes around the bases together and say something they are thankful for in the world, tne aation, the community and their home.  (You can also pray a prayer that includes what you are grateful for.)

Download Baseball placemat here. (You can also challenge everyone to write an answer on each base)

Outside: Hit the ball and run to the furthest base, then shout out what you are thankful for on that topic or Pray a sentence prayer including that topic. Play as a regular baseball game, just inclue the praises and prayers,

1st Base – WORLD

Prayer Theme: Gratitude for God’s Creation

Verse:

“The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it.” — Psalm 24:1 (NIV)

Prayer Thought:

Thank You, Lord, that Your goodness covers the whole world. You are Creator, Sustainer, and King over every nation and people.

2nd Base – NATION

Prayer Theme: Gratitude for God’s guidance over our country

Verse:

“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.” — Psalm 33:12 (NIV)

Prayer Thought:

Thank You, God, for blessing our nation. Guide our leaders, heal our land, and draw our people to Your truth.

3rd Base – COMMUNITY

Prayer Theme: Gratitude for neighbors, churches, schools, & local ministries

Verse:

“Serve the Lord with gladness.” — Psalm 100:2 (NIV)

Prayer Thought:

Thank You for the people around us—our church, our friends, our neighbors. Help us shine Your love and serve joyfully in our community.

Home Plate – HOME & FAMILY

Prayer Theme: Gratitude for God’s presence, peace and the people in our homes

Verse:

“As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” — Joshua 24:15 (NIV)

Prayer Thought:

Thank You, Lord, for our family. May our home be a place of faith, peace, and gratitude—centered on You.
